1/ Opera Bar

Our number one choice is the Opera Bar, right under the Opera House’s stunning sails. In saying that it is one of busiest locations so we strongly encourage you to get in early (and don’t forget to order the oysters, they are amazing).

2/ The MCA Café

During Vivid this fantastic Café is open with incredible views and delicious food. This venue does get extremely busy (don’t they all), so again, be sure to get in early.

4/ The Theatre Bar at the end of the Wharf

This is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, shared plates and picturesque and stunning views of the Harbour Bridge and Luna Park. The Theatre Bar at the end of the Wharf is definitely a venue to add to your Vivid list of places for a pit stop.

5/ The Glenmore

This 1921 pub is an iconic Sydney venue and one of the best parts of the Glenmore is the rooftop terrace. The Glenmore is one of the last-surviving pre-Harbour Bridge buildings on Cumberland Street, north of the Cahill Expressway. With stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the iconic Opera House, this is a must see. From this gorgeous rooftop terrace, you can enjoy a wide variety of beers and pub food while seeing the city lit up beneath you.

6/ Altitude Restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel

What a view! From 36 floors up in the Rock’s Shangri-La Hotel this is most definitely one of the best seats in the house. This is Vivid at its very best. If you have family and friends in town to see the lightshow then you must definitely take them 36 floors up!

8/ Barangaroo

With the inspiration of water, earth and fire watch the waterfront of Barangaroo light up as the sun sets. From 6pm-11pm each night of Vivid Sydney, you will be delighted by an enormous luminescent puppet through a display of sound and light. With restaurants and pop ups throughout Barangaroo, you are sure to enjoy your dinner and drinks as it glows and illuminates under the lights.

These are our 8 top tips for dinner and drinks around Sydney Harbour and we know wherever you stop for a break, you will find the light festival simply spectacular.
